Referrals, The Key to Perio Recovery

I got a call from a periodontist yesterday lamenting that he was down by 17 percent. In talking to him, I learned that he hadn’t done anything to grow his practice. His only approach was hoping and waiting for the economy to improve.

The reality is that periodontists must take action. The economy has plummeted, and nobody knows exactly when it will recover. Waiting it out is not an option. In fact, many periodontal practices are doing extremely well. These doctors discovered how to break old habits and embrace new systems—especially in the area of referral marketing.

I suggest that every periodontist have a referral marketing system in place with a minimum of 15 marketing strategies for attracting new referring dentists and maintaining current doctors. Have you addressed your referral marketing program with a minimum of 15 strategies? Have you developed a scientific referral marketing program for general dentists?
