Need Patients? Referral Marketing is the Answer!

I was talking to a leading periodontist last week. We were looking at the history of the decline of periodontics. It began in the 1980’s when general dentists started doing their own initial therapy and referrals began to decline.

Thankfully, implants emerged. They became the growth factor for many periodontal practices. That is until the current recession… when implants experienced declines.

What can periodontists do to start growing their practices? Educate GPs about the value and benefits of working with a skilled periodontist. You can easily do this through an effective referral marketing program.

Referral marketing means helping general dentists understand when and why to refer, adding new referral sources and stimulating growth—these all will help periodontists grow their practices now and in the future.
